RECYCLABILITY STATEMENT

Hot rolled steel windows and doors made by SWI members are manufactured from specifically designed steel window and door sections made of 100% recycled steel. Due to the natural resilience of steel over most other window and door materials available, steel windows and doors can remain functional for several generations before any need to upgrade window and door performance through contemporary window and door technologies, such as glass, weatherstripping, etc. When century old steel windows and doors have fulfilled their original role, it is important to know that their value can continue because they can be recycled back into service in the steel market in various forms and functions, conserving energy, natural resources and contributing to a greener planet. Steel is the most recycled material in North America. More steel is recycled every year than paper, aluminum, glass, plastic and copper combined.
